How Morse code works
International Morse code represents every letter and digit as a short sequence of dots (·) and dashes (–). A dash lasts three times as long as a dot. Within a character the parts are separated by a one-unit gap, letters are separated by a three-unit gap (shown here as a space), and words are separated by a seven-unit gap (shown here as a slash). For example E is a single dot and T a single dash, while the famous distress signal SOS is ... --- ... — three short, three long, three short. The translator simply looks each character up in this fixed table to encode, and reverses the lookup to decode.

Can this tool decode Morse code back to text?
